New Life International believes that aquariums are educational and enriching, promoting an appreciation for our precious, fragile oceans. We also believe the hobby can coexist with conservation and sustainable practices. In support of this idea, we are proud to use responsibly harvested ingredients and help organizations focused on practical solutions for domestic breeding of marine species, relieving pressure on our precious coral reef ecosystems.

Oceanic Institute, an affiliate of Hawai’i Pacific University, is a not-for-profit research and development organization dedicated to marine aquaculture, biotechnology, and coastal resource management. Among other things, their mission is to develop and transfer economically responsible technologies to foster domestic breeding of reef fish in high-demand within the aquarium hobby, relieving pressure due to over-harvesting and promoting sustainable use of ocean resources. New Life works with OI, helping to provide quality Spectrum aquarium nutrition to reduce mortality, increase breeding vigor and help support larvae.  See our Article for More…

msclogo_krillWe are proud that the krill harvested for New Life Spectrum® has been certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)  — the world’s leading certification program for commercial fisheries and seafood. The Marine Stewardship Council is an international non-profit organization established to safeguard seafood supplies for the future. Only seafood from fisheries that meet their strict standard earn the blue MSC label. These fisheries ensure that resources are caught at levels that allow populations and the ecosystems on which they depend on to remain healthy and productive for the future. New Life Spectrum® uses whole krill sustainably harvested off the coast of Antarctica — an area virtually free of environmental pollution..
